Update

In case you haven't heard, we're pregnant.  Due December 13.  Her name is Codie Caroline Stobie.
Since I am less than TEN WEEKS away from my due date, I thought I would finally let everyone who's asked where I'm registered...  amazon.com

We have decided to send Christmas cards out super early this year to let everyone know our new address.  It's sort of silly, but we figured if we didn't do it now, it would never happen.

Dylan has started preschool and absolutely loves it.  This is him on his first day.

This is how big I was 2 weeks ago.  I've grown since then.

I don't want to gross anybody out, but this is what the baby looked like about four weeks ago.  3D imaging is a little freaky.  She hardly had any fat on her at this time, so I'm sure when I get my next ultrasound in two weeks she will look totally different.

FYI-- Dylan has a birthday/Christmas wish list posted on amazon.com.

Keep an eye out for our Christmas card and note the change of address :)

ZOO

We have really enjoyed going to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo this summer and fall. It is such an amazing place.
Dylan's new favorite animal is the giraffe. He doesn't mind all the slobber the giraffe leaves behind when he feeds them lettuce.

If you look closely, you will see that the little monkey is very angry at Dylan. He started hissing at Dylan as soon as he walked up. Good thing the glass was there.

However, this monkey loved Dylan. They played together for a bit.

September

Dylan has started potty training himself, so Mike and I decided to jump on board and get him his first pair of big boy underwear. Nothing is cuter than a little boy in tighty-whiteys.

Horsey rides are the best.

As soon as I get Dylan out of bed he runs fast as lightening to get in bed with "DA-EEE"

There are so many parks in CO Springs. We have fun visiting a new one almost every weekend.

This park has a lake that Dylan was determined to jump in. I had to sprint to catch him. The fall weather has already reached us, so swimming was out. It was 65 degrees that day.

Summer

Our summer has flown by. It's been full of trips to the zoo, the ER, gymnastics, new parks, new playgroups... we stay very busy. It is hard to believe our little man will be 2 soon. He is quite a handful, and I can only imagine what the future holds.

Hey parents- That glue they use is AMAZING! So much better than stitches if it's a shallow gash in the head....
...not that it's fun for your kid to have the glue applied. It took wrapping him up, and nurses holding him down. Mike and I couldn't help but to laugh.

Dylan likes to have tea with Mom in the morning. I think we have a future model on our hands.

more photos

Dylan started gymnastics in January. He really loves it, and so do I. There are skills he learns each week, but he loves free play and bubble time the best. The teachers are nice enough to take photos and email them to us.

This was a summer-like day that we fully enjoyed. What a sweet heart!

Dylan and Mommy were caught red-handed in the snack cabinet. This is the same moment that the PB photo in the last blog was taken.

Last month or so Dylan really started to build things with his huge leggos. I love catching him playing like this. He's growing up so fast.

Dylan LOVES stuffed animals! On this morning in February, he would not come downstairs unless he had as many animals as possible in his arms. When we got downstairs he got in his chair, propped his feel up on his drum, and watched cartoons. Too funny!

His favorite animal is Snuggle Puppy, the blue dog, of course.

Big Boy

Oh where does the time go?? My little baby is officially NOT a little baby anymore. In fact, he thinks he is at least five years old. I can't take him to our neighborhood playground by myself anymore because Dylan wants to do what the big boys do. It always ends with tears and a mouth full of wood chips, dirt or rocks. One person is not enough.

Dylan's favorite food of the moment is blueberries. He cannot get enough. I think they are messier than spaghetti!

He likes to drink his milk from a big boy cup.

Dylan LOVES to make videos. He may be a future movie director.

The other favorite food right now is peanut butter. He loves to dip his pretzels in the jar.

"Time to get ready for work!" After his bath he went right to the closet and put Daddy's shoes on.

Dylan's 1st Birthday!

Mike and I both agree that this has been the longest yet shortest year of our lives. Dylan is such a good boy. He is so smart, loving and fun. Even though the start of his life was rough for Mommy and Daddy, he's an absolute pleasure to have around.

Planning Dylan's party was a thrill. He always starts clapping and dancing when he sees Mickey Mouse, so the theme was a no-brainer.

In this picture, Dylan is seeing his Mickey balloon for the first time.
It's funny how anything can become a weapon. Boys will be boys.
Everybody wants a turn on the piano.
Cake Time!!

He had never felt or tasted such a wonderful, squishy delight.
Dylan had his 12 month check-up this week. He weighs 21 lbs (35th percentile) and is 30 3/4 in (80th percentile). Tall and thin... sound familiar??
